Ian Buckle and Andy Long, two Kirklees regulars, open the season in Dewsbury with a programme of violin and piano music. Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata so called because the violinist Rodolphe Kreutzer refused to play it, cemented Beethoven's mastery of the instrumental sonata.

Glazunov, Vecsey and Giliere are composers from the early-20h century, each of whom wrote music that has become a staple of the solo violin repertoire.
