The Huddersfield Literature Festival and Kirklees Libraries Services presents a special pre-festival event to celebrate National Libraries Day:
From the Himalayas to Huddersfield…
An Evening With Levison Wood
Tuesday 9 February 2016
7.30pm, Town Hall, Huddersfield, £5 (£3 conc)
He has walked the Nile…
He has trekked the Himalayas…
He has led expeditions on five continents…
And now… he’s coming to Huddersfield.
The intrepid explorer, writer and TV presenter talks about and presents images from his adventures, from Walking the Nile to Walking the Himalayas.
This latest expedition takes him, on foot, through five countries along ‘The Roof of the World’, through some of the most unstable parts of the globe. But more than anything, it is a story of personal adventure and striving beyond the limits of convention.
An outstanding writer in the classic tradition of British author/adventurers, Levison Wood spent 10 years in the army before becoming an explorer. His TV series Walking the Nile was accompanied by a top 10 bestselling book and there will be a new C4 series in spring 2016 for Walking the Himalayas.
